Noland Creek was largely spared by the timber industry of years ago and has stands of virgin timber along many ridges and peaks. Fishing here offers solitude and one of the most peaceful settings you can get to without hiking for miles. Brown trout are found in the lower reaches, with many large trout entering the water from Fontana Lake. Rainbow trout are found in the entire watershed with brook trout in the highest elevations.
Several nice campsites on Noland Creek offer options for great multi-day trips. Notable tributaries are Mill Creek, and Clingmans Creek.
